31 weeks

WOW! I am really bad at blogging! I am 31 weeks now...so its been a long time since my last blog at 12 weeks. Since my last blog, I found out we are having a little girl and picked the name Madden. A lot of people look at me weird when I tell them her name, but we love it! Madden is my mom's maiden name, so its extra special. She has been measuring about a week bigger then her due date, so who knows when she will make her appearance. We have had 6 ultrasounds done (i know that sounds like a lot), but we have really enjoyed seeing her! She is one active baby, so a lot of the pictures aren't so clear. So far all tests and ultrasounds have come back normal so we feel very lucky! We just can't wait to meet our sweet little Maddie. We have been working hard on her nursery, just a few final touches and we will be ready for her. On Sunday, My mom, sister, mother in law, and two best friends are throwing me a baby shower. I am so lucky to have such special people in my life! I can't wait to see everyone and celebrate! I think that is it for now. I will try and blog more often to give updates on Madden!

How far along? 31 weeks -
How big is the baby? About 3.5 lbs -
Weight gain? 22 lbs...yikes! -
Stretch Marks? Nope...I use a lot of lotion on my belly so hopefully Ill be ok!
Sleep? hmm...I wake up a few times a night, but it hasn't been terrible. I am really tired all the time though. Work is starting to get a little tough! -
Best moment of the week? I can't wait for my doctors appointment on Thursday! I always like to get an update on baby Madden. And the baby shower on Sunday!! I can't wait to see everyone! -
Food and cravings? I wouldn't exactly say I have many cravings, but I do eat a lot of cereal. Trev thinks it is so weird, but I love it! -
Movement? She moves all the time! I can't really tell where her feet and hands are but she is certainly one active baby! -
What I miss? I miss wearing regular clothes and not feeling fluffy all the time.
Belly Button? Still there but its getting smaller! -
Looking forward to? Baby shower on Sunday!! -
Milestone? None this week but I do have a doctor's appointment on Thursday!

Baby Mevis

12 week ultrasound

Sooo....I have kinda been slacking off on this whole blog thing, but for those of yall that don't know Trev and I are expecting our first little one in August! We could not be more excited! We found out mid December, but we kept it a secret until I went to my 8 week check up at the doctor (just to make sure everything was ok). And everything was great, so we told our parents and then all of our friends. Our families were so excited! This will be the first grandchild on both sides, so this going to be one spoiled baby.

My next doctors visit is on March 7th for a 16 week check and then March 29th to find out if Baby Mevis is a boy or girl. I cannot wait for that visit, even though I am pretty sure its a boy (just a feeling). So far this pregnancy has been great! I haven't felt sick or had any crazy symptoms. Which is quite a relief because I have heard horror stories about morning sickness and early pregnancy.

How far along? 14 weeks 3 days
How big is baby? According to babycenter.com Baby Mevis is about the size of a lemon!
Weight gain? I think only about 3 lbs so far. But I have a feeling soon that will all change.
Maternity clothes? Not yet, but my jeans are starting to get pretty tight.
Stretch marks? No
Sleep?: Well I wake up a few times at night to use the bathroom, but other then that I sleep pretty well.
Best moment this week? Probably knowing there is only 2 weeks til my next appointment!
Movement? Nope, Baby Mevis is still too tiny.
Food cravings? haha Tuna fish and fruit...weird I know.
Gender? Don't know yet...We find out March 29th!
What I miss? Caffeine
What I am looking forward to? My two doctors visits in March!!!

Time for a little vacation...

This past weekend Trev and I went to Greenville, SC to help our friend John move into his new apartment! I had never been to Greenville, so it was great to see a new city. As far as the whole moving thing, I didn't help much (he had a moving company), but Heather, Greg, and I went to the mall and Target to get things for the apartment. I was really sad when I heard John and Heather were moving away, but I am so happy for them! They are both wonderful people, who have a very exciting life ahead of them! And it's only a hour and a half away, so I can go visit ALL the time!! haha.

But like all weekends it went by too quick, but on a good note i'm only working two days this week!!! YEA!!! Trev and I are going to Hilton Head Island for a long weekend. We have been going the past three years and really look foward to it. We stay at the Holiday Inn Oceanfront. It is so relaxing and we love the tiki bar! Ill put pictures up next week!!

It all ends with fireworks

This work week went by really quick, which was great. We were slow at work, but we had a lot of fun! I love the people I work with. We get along so well and have a great time (of course in between taking care of the little ones).

I saw Eclipse on Thursday with Caitie, Heather, and Greg. It was soooo good! It was definitely the best movie yet in the series. The main character Edward, is a vampire who fell in love with a human. I know it sounds dumb, but it is one of the most romantic stories I have ever heard. It's hard not to get sucked into the story and think that every relationship should be like that. I think a lot of young girls have read this story and now have a false view on love. Not everything is perfect all the time, but if you find someone who loves you, for you, that is truly the best feeling. Not everything is like a fairytale, life isn't perfect, but if you have found someone who truly cares for you despite your flaws, well then you can't get much better then that. I am so lucky to have such a wonderful man in my life and I am grateful everyday! He definitly puts up with my crazy moods and ideas which makes him pretty close to a saint! haha

Ok, enough of the serious stuff! This weekend was great. Our friends Jordan and Brandon came into town from Charleston. On Saturday, we all went tubing down the river. It started out a little rough. The river was very low, so the rocks were tricky to get around. But once we got all hooked together it was a great time. Heather and I got a little cut up from the rocks from swimming, but thats ok!! Saturday night, we went to the Blowfish game to see the fireworks. As usual it was a painfully long baseball game and all I really wanted to see was the fireworks! Sunday, we had bruch then headed to the lake. The weather was beautiful! It has been a little cooler out the last week, which is a great change from the 100 degree weather we have ha the last month. Later that night, we had a BBQ at my parents. Our friends Judy and Will brought the newest edition to their family over, BRYCE! She is so adorable and I have the pleasure of being her nurse!! Trev got to hold her which was too funny because he has a little fear of babies! But he will have to get over that one day when we have little ones :)! And that leads to the last day of the long weekend. Today, I just took it easy and tried to get ready for this week. Lots of laundry and cleaning!

Long Week, Short Weekend...

This week was probably one of the longest weeks ever! LOTS of well check ups= busy at work! So come Friday, I was so excited for the weekend. I had a half day, so I went to the Lake Murray with my mom and sister. It was realllllly hot out (which in South Carolina during the summer, everyday is miserably hot). We swam in the pool and ate snow cones (it was great)! I felt like a kid again.

Friday night we had everyone over to watch the Gamecocks play Clemson. It was a very exciting game, WE WON! Which meant we had to win one more game to go to the National Championship...WHICH WE DID! Trevis was so excited! He just loves USC sports. He was actually planning on going to Omaha, but the flights just didn't seem to work out. I felt really bad he couldn't go, but he will be able to watch it on TV!

Saturday morning, we went to Delaney's Irish pub to watch the USA soccer game ( I know a Irish pub in the a.m. is never a good idea). It was a lot of fun (even though we lost), until some obnoxious girl started blaming our group for the loss. She said we weren't cheering loud enough. My personal opinion is drunk girls should just keep their mouths shut. And I know you're thinking, like you've never got drunk and mouthed off. Well I have, but I would never start a fight with complete strangers! But o well, I'm sure that girl went home and passed out and probably doesn't remember a thing. My brother in law cut his foot at the bar and I got to use my nursing skills to stop the bleeding and bandage him up. He just graduated nursing school and passed boards, so soon enough he will be able to bandage himself up! haha.

And finally, lazy Sunday...Trev and I went back to the lake with my parents. I love having them down here! We swam in the lake, which scares my mom because she thinks something is going to "get her". Hmm what else. FRIENDS... I am so grateful to have such wonderful people in my life. We have a great circle and we are always there for each other. Yea we bicker, but who doesn't. Well I think that's it for now...til next week! :)

Father's Day

This is my very first blog, so it might be a little weak! It is Father's Day. I have the best Father in the world. He has always been there for me and is so loving and caring. Things have been so great since my parents moved down to South Carolina. I was born and raised in New Jersey. My parents both grew up in New York City, so moving down here has been a HUGE adjustment. I decided to stay down in South Carolina after graduation because of the wonderful man in my life (my husband Trevis). My sister, Caitie, also went to USC. She recently graduated and is interviewing for Elementary Education jobs.

Last night we had a little get together at our new house! It was a lot of fun. I love having all our close friends over. Our group of friends is so wonderful (but I do miss my NJ girls tons). Since we moved, we have a lot more room so having friends over is a great time. Our friends Heather and John were here! They recently got engaged (Trev and I are both in the wedding) and we are planning their couple's shower. I have never thrown a big party like this before, so I have been getting a lot of good advice from everyone. There are 8 people throwing the party, so we have divided up the to do list (so I am a little less stressed!).

I think that's all for now. I am going to finish watching the soccer game and then head over to my parents lake house for dinner. It's going to be a long work week (I am a Pediatric Nurse) but I get a half day on Friday, so that is VERY exciting!!
